The Roosevelt Island Tramway is an aerial tramway in New York City, USA, connecting Roosevelt Island with the Upper East Side of Manhattan and serves as public means of transport for local residents. It is also a popular tourist attraction. It is the oldest urban aerial tramways in North America serving public transportation. The first aerial tramway was built in 1976 and was replaced by a completely new aerial tramway system built by Poma in 2010.
